Stop The Senate's Gift To Monsanto

Two months ago, we beat back the DARK (Denying Americans the Right to Know) Act in the Senate, which would have blocked your state from labeling GMO foods and would have killed existing labeling laws in states like Vermont, Maine and Connecticut.

Now Monsanto and the big food lobby have come back with a different proposal – QR code labels. Instead of just simply labeling GMO's, they want to make it even more difficult for consumers to find out what’s in our food.

You deserve better than this. Make sure your Senators know you want them to support a strong bill that calls for meaningful national GMO labeling.

We have a right to know what’s in our food. Sign the petition today!
Dear Senator,

I urge you to oppose any bill that prevents me from knowing if there are GMOs in my food. I should have the right to make my own decisions about the food I buy and eat, and not have those choices taken away by Congress. And Congress shouldn't stop states from requiring GMO labeling.

GMO labeling should be mandatory, not voluntary, so all food products get the same treatment. And GMO labeling isn't onerous on food producers or cost prohibitive. It can be a simple phrase on the package, or even part of the ingredient label. It should be clear and straightforward – not a scannable code that requires the use of a mobile device – so all consumers have the right to make their own choice.

More than 90 percent of Americans want GMO labeling. I appreciate you standing up for your constituents by supporting a Senate bill that requires strong, easy-to-understand mandatory GMO labeling.
