Dr. Joan Laub and partner Peter Winney killed all eleven of their animals in their Lion's Gate Sanctuary in Agate, Colorado. They described this mass killing of tigers, lions, bears, etc, as euthanasia, but it was really revenge killing aimed at the Elba County government for their not approving the moving of the Lion's Gate Sanctuary. The couple wanted to build a new facility on other property they own, but residents near that parcel of land didn't want a sanctuary near them for fear of an escaped animal. Officials at both Keensburg Wildlife Sanctuary and Minnesota's Wildcat Sanctuary had offered to take in the animals, but they were all ignored. How could two people who had supposedly devoted their lives to providing sanctuary for these animals suddenly MURDER them?! It is unthinkable, and animal cruelty charges should be levied at once. They should both be jailed and prosecuted for animal cruelty and NEVER be allowed to operate another animal sanctuary, never be allowed animal ownership and also never be permitted to have anything to do with animal welfare again! These animals deserve justice!
