A number of grocery stores, like Whole Foods and Safeway, have started informing customers about mercury by posting signs at their seafood counters, but many others are not following suit. Everyone who eats seafood should know how to protect their families from mercury contamination - regardless of where they shop!
Why? A scientist with the EPA has estimated that one in six women has enough mercury in her body to pose a neurological risk to her developing fetus - and seafood is the primary way people are exposed to mercury.
