Justice for Ricky La Guerre Jr.

  • Deadline: Ongoing...
In New York and other US states Children are being arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced as adults while having adverse reactions to SSRI’s antidepressants. Children are being sentenced to mandatory terms created to net young people involved in gang violence and the drug trades. Some Children are being sentenced to life without parole.   While under the influence of prescription drugs and having adverse reactions, otherwise average and above average children commit unthinkable crimes. These children are then thrown into a court and sentencing system designed for hardcore adult criminals, not taking into consideration the past non-violent social history or the effects strong prescription drugs have on young minds. The results are ruined young lives. We need your support. Please sign this petition and lend your name to the pursuit of Juvenile Justice and the dangers that mind altering drug side effects can have on our children .

Justice for Ricky La Guerre Jr.

Raul LaGuerre Jr. is a teenager known as Ricky. Ricky had just finished the 8th grade on the date of the crimes charged against him on August 15, 2003. He was 15 years old at the time.

Ricky had trouble adjusting to his new school. He was teased alot. The other children criticized his clothing and teased him in many ways. Ricky became despondent and could no longer keep up with his studies, at a certain point he unfortunately threw a chair across the classroom.

The school district directed the parents to have Ricky evaluated by a psychiatrist. His doctor Dr. Alfred E. Ramirez found Ricky to be suffering from mild depression , slight anxiety and possible attention deficit disorder, after only one session Dr Ramirez prescribed the powerful prescription drugs Zoloft, Strattera and Risperdal. Dr Ramires wrote this prescription on or about June 27, 2003.

Eight weeks later Ricky was charged with committing a crime against his neighbor on or about August 15, 2003. almost 8 weeks to the date.

Up until August 15, 2003 Ricky had no prior criminal record. There can be no doubt that these powerful drugs that were wrongfully prescribed and administered to Ricky caused adverse reactions and Ricky became manic . It was also discovered later that Ricky indeed was allergic to these drugs and suffered toxic posioning.

Ricky was found guilty of the crimes he committed while in a somnambulism (sleep walking) state, while involuntary intoxicated on prescribed mind altering drugs.

and is now serving a 10 year sentence in the state of New York. Ricky is just one example of what the proposed Teenscreen for our school children can create.

With all  the evidence now available about the off labeling of these mediations to children and their dangerous side effects and adverse reactions that these medications cause to a small percentage of children and adults :

We the undersigned ask for Ricky’s case to be reviewed and heard in the New York Supreme Court.
