Empower Women to Fight Poverty With Small Business Loans

Basic financial services, like credit, loans or even a simple bank account, are something most of us take for granted. But women in the developing world are often denied these simple but life-changing financial services.

That can leave women and their families hungry and without hope of ever escaping poverty.

Many of these women don't need a handout. They just need a hand up.

Through programs like FINCA's Village Banking, entrepreneurial women in the developing world are gaining access to financial credit and loans, giving them hope and opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. FINCA's small loans and other financial services empower poor women to build their own businesses so they can increase their incomes, feed their families, educate their children and create a brighter future.

But too many of us are content to ignore their plight and let women across the world live without the opportunity to change their own lives.

Programs like this that help women pull themselves out of poverty need our full backing. Take action today: Tell Secretary of State Clinton to support programs that give women access to life-changing loans!
Dear Secretary of State Clinton,

Basic financial services, like credit or small business loans are something most of us take for granted. For many people in the developing world, though, these simple but life-changing financial services are out of reach.

With access to the financial services like small business loans, though, women are uniquely positioned to turn the tide of global poverty. As you work to fight poverty around the world, I urge you to give your strong support to programs that give women in developing nations access to these vital basic financial services.
