Animal 'actors' may have agents, but what about advocates?
Tragically, some terrible abuses have happened while filming movies and TV shows. Even worse, they happened simply for the sake of creating realistic scenes in movies.
American Humane Association's highly trained Certified Animal Safety RepresentativesTM work hard overseeing more than 1,000 productions a year through an exclusive contract with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). But they do not have the resources to be on every film set with animals.
As a result, there are student films, or films made overseas, or independent films that potentially involve defenseless animals. These animals desperately need advocates who care about them -- not about getting the "right shot."
Sign today to be an advocate for animal actors, and to support American Humane's efforts to protect them.
