Michigan animal cruelty law change!

In response to the story in the Muskegon Chronicle, "Police say renter left animals in a dealth house" dated Tuesday March 13, 2007 we request a change in Michigan State law, Duty to provide adequate care provision.  Citation: MCL750.50  We feel acts upon animals like this should be able to be prosecuted as a felony the first time.   We feel this is unexcusable as well as willful.   Acts like this will not stop as long as people are allowed to basically walk free.                            http://www.animallaw.info/statutes/stusmi750_50.htm    http://www.mlive.com/news/chronicle/index.ssf?/base/news-11/1173795393211980.xml&coll=8    Update:  Thank you Tony Tague for taking the time to research this case and imposing a felony charge on this.  (please read updated story)  We all are in this together to try to pass laws to make it easier for people in your postition to get it done!!  Good luck on this and God Bless you and your staff.     http://www.mlive.com/news/chronicle/index.ssf?/base/news-11/117569795464430.xml&coll=8
