Step Up On Climate, President Obama!

Target: President Obama
Sponsored by: 1Sky

President Obama recently acknowledged that unfortunately the U.S. will not have a comprehensive global treaty at the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen next month. The president also noted that we can't walk away from Copenhagen empty-handed.

The lack of a strong Senate bill on climate has hampered U.S. efforts to lead on a global treaty. Now it is more critical than ever that President Obama goes to Copenhagen to lead on next steps for a swift, decisive, and comprehensive global treaty. He must also know that we are standing with him and urge him to be even more personally engaged in pushing Congress for the strongest possible clean energy and climate bill

Tell President Obama to step up on climate both at home and in Copenhagen -- sign the petition today and we will deliver your message to the Obama administration.

Dear President Obama,

You were elected President on a promise to take bold action on climate change, and indeed you have demonstrated more leadership on this issue than any other President the United States has ever seen. But we are facing a planetary emergency and an unprecedented opportunity, and when it comes to climate, it's time to deliver on your promise to transition America to a clean energy economy and to demonstrate bold leadership at a global level.

[Your comment will be inserted here]

As world leaders prepare for the U.N. Climate Change Conference in December, we urge you to step up your efforts to pass strong and comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation here at home and to join other leaders in Copenhagen to ensure a strong climate treaty. By adopting bold climate and energy policy, the U.S. can help rally the world around a strong treaty and unleash a clean energy revolution that will create millions of green jobs and protect our planet and future generations from the worst effects of global warming.

Mr. President, we will do all we can to urge the U.S. Congress to take bold action now, and we are asking you to use your bully pulpit to push Congress for legislation that achieves science-based cuts in global warming pollution, transitions us away from dirty energy, and invests in a clean energy future.

Sincerely,

So far, Mr. President, you have let us all down; here's a chance to regain some of all those points you've lost. I want to vote for you again, but so far, I can't see it.

At you as the president, has an authority. Use it correctly. Show everything, that the president for inhabitants of a planet can make. All of us still we live under old laws. Reconsider the attitude to wildlife management. Push other leaders to make the same. Who, if not you?
