Stand with President Obama to End the Money-for-Influence Game in Washington

Oil and gas prices are at some of the highest levels we've seen in years, but big oil companies aren't just bringing in huge profits. They're enjoying enormous subsidies -- more than $4 billion in tax giveaways this year.

They're likely to continue enjoying them, unless we act to change a system that means Big Oil's interests are put above taxpayers', again and again.

These oil companies spent more than $145 million last year on nearly 800 lobbyists. They're experts at the money-for-influence game in Washington that the President is working to change.

When a bill to eliminate those $4 billion in giveaways comes up for a vote in the Senate, it's likely to fail -- giving the oil companies an impressive 2,700% return on their lobbying investment.

It's going to take more than a petition to change votes like these. It's going to take changing Washington.

Obama for America is building a grassroots campaign that's led and funded by ordinary people like us -- not lobbyists or special interests -- to remake Washington in our own image.

So if you're frustrated by the way business gets done in Washington, stand with the President in support of a new kind of politics that works for all Americans.
Stand with President Obama to End the Money-for-Influence Game in Washington.

I stand with President Obama in his fight to bring a new kind of politics to Washington.

Unless we change our current system that means influence can be bought with expensive lobbyists, the interests of Big Oil and other industries are going to be put above taxpayers', again and again.

It's time to change Washington, and I support President Obama's grassroots campaign led and funded by people like me -- not lobbyists or special interests -- to remake Washington in our own image.
