We the undersigned desire to petition the Attorney General and this newly formed religious freedom task force for a redress of grievances because the DEA has failed to allow a religious registry protecting citizens’ religious rights to possess a psycho-tropic plant for religious purposes, and for this reason we are seeing many citizens, such as Indians, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Shamans, Rasta’s, and others are being drug into courts arrested and fined until they prove their innocents. Many of these small courts throw these cases out or trample the evidence…and nothing is done or said…and many who have fallen under persecution have lost much in fines, court costs, seizure of personal and real property, and have been exposed to unsafe jail housing and ridicule.
Congress specifically approved the International Convention on Psychotropic Drugs, 21 U.S.C. 801a (2006), which includes an exemption for any plant being used for religious purposes. Article 32, Section 4,of the Convention on Psychotropic Substances states, “A State on whose territory there are plants growing wild which contain psychotropic substances from among those in Schedule I and which are traditionally used by certain small, clearly determined groups in magical or religious rites, may, at the time of signature, ratification or accession, make reservations concerning these plants, in respect of the provisions of article 7, except for the provisions relating to international trade.”
These laws make clear that it is not only "fairly possible" for the United States to permit the religious use of cannabis, but that domestic and international law; in fact, require such deference absent demonstration of a threat to public health and safety.
Therefore the DEA should be required by Congress to provide a religious registry and make a record of citizens or churches who use certain plants for religious purposes and prevent the persecution of these and to secure their Religious Freedom Right to practice their religion.

| 197 | 8:19 am PDT, Jun 5 | Barry Thiessen | I believe that cannabis should be legalized, mot merely de-criminalized. I believe it should be the right of each individual to determine whether cannabis works for them or not BUT I also believe that hemp has critical importance as a solutions to our environmental crisis. Please stop vicitmizing innocents while letting the truly guily go free (and even profit). Please open your eyes and ALL THAT IS ALIVE for what it really is - a gift to all of us, to be cherished and protected, not merely a "resource" with no vaalue until it is exploited and discarded. |

It was mistranslated into calamus (a poison)and I know that MY God would never ask His children to pour poison over their heads! My wife and I are currently facing felony trafficking charges in Alabama just for growing the ingredients for our holy oil. Ridiculous! This war on drugs is a war on our own people! And nothing good has come from it, unless you count all the profits that Big Pharma is laundering. If you are against cannabis, you are literally against (anti) Christ. Is that who you really want to be? If is was good enough for Jesus, it good enough for me! |

As you can see that alcohol doesnt grow on trees, or derive from the earth itself - its legal when purchased from someone whom inturn pays taxes to sell it.. lol.. Some laws of that country are so ridiculously obvious! One would come to think they smoke that crap all day long, so to burn their braincells away! |
| 162 | 1:49 am PDT, Sep 4 | Anonymous | I think that as long as it is natural, and is use in it's natural state, that we has only people have no right to decide that what our creator saw fit to put on this planet obviously for our use in the betterment of our lives, should be governed or controlled. As long as it's used only in it's natural state with no chemical changes being made to it. At least that's what I believe. |

| 156 | 12:19 pm PDT, Jul 31 | Holly Sullivan | We say there is religious freedom and that we don't mix church and state...but if we persecute those religions for what they have always done isn't that sort of contradicting the whole point. |
| 155 | 7:05 pm PDT, Jul 29 | Brian Carlson | I believe that cannabis, when used in moderation and for religious ceremonies or for medicinal purposes should be legal due to the cultural heritage and civil rights and that the people who practice these religions and only use said substance for said reason should NOT be persecuted. Instead, the casual use and abuse of said substances should be controlled. |
| 154 | 3:51 pm PDT, Jul 29 | James P. Healey | Cannabis has been proven for centuries to have healing properties and must be legalized so that those suffering from a variety of illness can benefit from this medicinal herb. We as a society should also respect to use of other herbs, remedies and plant substances legitimately used by many religions around the globe and here in the US. Can we in good conscience advocate the use of wine, an intoxicant, in religious ceremony and deny other religions the same right? |
| 153 | 9:08 pm PDT, Jul 28 | Jon Bautista | gods gifts to humanity. reefer and shrooms should not only be legal but encouraged. maybe not habitually but everyone should really get in touch with themselves for a while :) |

| 151 | 8:21 am PDT, Jul 26 | Nicholas Prince | the drug war is a waste of money and trods on religious freedoms...if Jesus smoked cannabis, would it be legal then? |
Tell the DEA to provide a religious registry for the use of Psychotropic plants.
The DEA has failed to allow a religious registry for the use of psycho-tropic plants listed in the CSA thus many have fallen under persecution and judged on the basis of their religious beliefs. Indians, Rastas, UDV, Christians, Jews, and Muslims and all Cannabis Sacrament Religions are falling under persecution. The Cannabis Sativa plant is a herb and one of the vital ingredients in the Holy Anointing Oil of Moses. To ordain ministers, and to anoint the sick in the days of Christ. In Biblical times it was used as an incense in the temple of Moses and burned daily. Many truths are being revealed about this plant that America has demonized. And DEA and this government has failed to allow DUE PROCESS of a Religious Registry purpose of the use of this plant. Many hide in fear of being persecuted for their belief in Gods holy provision to man. Many lose their home and their Children...Stop the persecution and allow these DUE PROCESS!!!!
