Time to change the OSPCA Act.The City of Brantford is; "The Cruel Capital of Ontario"

All Ontario Residents deserve the same Rules, and Fees Province wide!

THE MINISTRY IGNORED MY MAIN QUESTION; When the Brant County SPCA tells callers who have discovered a Momma cat and her kittens on their property, to leave them alone, don't feed them and let nature take its course, (in the middle of winter) and you could be fined.

Does the Minister and his Staff not consider this to be Animal Cruelty ?

After fourteen months of talking and dozens of e-mails to the horses Ass (City Hall) many Councillors, the Animal Care Review Board, and the Head Office of the OSPCA who states that they have nothing to do with the day to day operations of the Brant County SPCA, I decided to talk to the horses head !!

It took three months for them to reply to my many e-mails !! The existing thirty five year old contract, allows the Brant County SPCA to apply Persuasive measures to Brantford citizens, to the point of telling a Mental Health resident, to comply or move out of town. To charge and fine a Seventy-Nine year old retired School teacher for feeding Feral cats, that were left homeless when Empire Homes levelled five farms, and approximately eighty barn cats had no home or existence. She has already paid one fine, and is awaiting a second court appearance on the same charge. that carries a maximum fine of $5,000.00.The City of Brantford should be  reprimanded for their violation of her Fundamental Civil Rights !!

The OSPCA Act needs revision, and every community must be included!!!

At her own expense, the lady has TNR'D over a dozen cats, since her first court appearance, and trial coming up next month. "IF You Don't Feed Them, You Can't Trap Them" She is such a Great inspiration, as more charges could be filed against her.

The City of Brantford won't drop the charges, against retired School teacher for feeding Feral cats !! Her trial is now set for July 30, 2015. Feeding Feral Cats is a crime in The Telephone City. Max fine is $5,000.00 for this, her second offence. OSPCA Act. needs revision for all Ontario citizens.

The Petition is running out of steam and its decision time for me. Would I call the Petition a success ??? In voter numbers No,No,No !! In comments of support " Yes yes and yes !!

Do I try and send out a different petition, and hope that Ontario residents and especially the Brantford, animal lovers will buy in ?? or do I hold the line for "CHANGE" with the present Petition ? looking to reach that 1,000 signature target. Kenneth Wood

The retired Seventy-Nine year old school teachers case has been remanded until May 20th 2015. In the meantime the lady has secured the help and advice of the Telephone City Feral Cat Rescue, who are a Brantford Cat Rescue, and provide TNR services in Brantford, with the help of the OSPCA Clinics in Toronto. I will report the outcome when it happens. Thanks for your support

The Seventy-Nine year old retired school teacher, is due to appear in court tomorrow, April 28th. She has been called a heroin, for standing up to the City of Brantford and the Brant County SPCA for feeding feral cats. Her beliefs and religion is contrary to the city bylaws, Watching animals die of starvation or freezing to death is not an option for her, and it most certainly isn't for me. I will be in court with her and will let you know how it turns out.
