Appropriation of Funds for youth centers by townships is legal and ethical without restriction as approved by town citizens.
Birch Grove Community School, Charter School District (CSD) #4145 is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 which provides the west ends work force with convenient and affordable before, during, and after school program in support of youth and families. Our center also provides community education and enrichment. The majority of our program participants are part of Lutsen’s workforce. (Due to lack of affordable housing many program participants reside outside of Cook County while working in Cook County and bringing their children to our exceptional life enriching programs and educational opportunities.)
In Accordance With (IAW) MN State Statute 471.935 - A statutory or home rule charter city, county, or town may appropriate money to support the facilities, programs, and services of a public or private, not-for-profit senior citizen center or youth center.

Birch Grove Community School - Charter School District (CSD) #4145 is a 501 (c) 3 Nonprofit. We provide a youth center to west end residents and work force. Our center is the only one within 30 miles of other rural access points.
You are legally authorized as a town to appropriate funds for the purpose of a youth center in accordance with (IAW) MN State Statute 471-935. Please sign our petition in support of an appropriation of fund in the amount of $20,000. These funds are critical in keeping a work force sustainable in the west end of Cook County.
