On this Earth Day the battle to protect our Clean Water, Air, and Endangered Species Acts loom large, with the battle over drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge taking center stage. Despite claims to the contrary we know that if oil drilling in this pristine environment is allowed the water, air, and wildlife will be permanently affected.
After the recent senate vote to include drilling in ANWR as a part of
the budget, the battle has only just begun. Only one senator needed to
switch sides, and we would have prevailed.
Please take a moment to thank or condemn your senator for his/her stance on oil drilling in the Artic and to ask them to support the Eisenhower-Udall Arctic Wilderness Protection Act (S.261 and H.R.567).This act will permanently set aside the Arctic coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Alaska, as wilderness in recognition of its extraordinary natural ecosystems for the permanent good of present and future generations of Americans.

Dear Senator (who voted against drilling)
As a constituent I wanted to express my thanks for your voting to
protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. While I'm disappointed
in the outcome of the first vote, I urge you to continue your efforts
to block final Congressional passage of any budget bill that includes
drilling in the Arctic Refuge .
Dear Senator (who voted for drilling)
As a constituent I wanted to express my strong disappointment over your
vote to allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. My
hope is that you will reconsider your vote the next time this comes
before the Senate.
On this Earthday we should consider what strong actions should be taken
to save wildlife, its habitat and the environment we share for future
generations of Americans. Not only should we preserve the Endangered
Species, Clean Water, and Clean Air acts, but Congress should set aside
the
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from drilling once and for all through
the Eisenhower-Udall Arctic Wilderness Protection Act (S.261 and H.R.
567).
Keep up the great work. Look what you've accomplished!
