Institute muscially choreographed silent fireworks instead traumatizing and killing innocent wildlife and pets.

Pets and wildlife alike suffer from fireworks. Please read the letter to the Monte Foundation in Capitola asking them to institute silent fireworks and sign the petition. The foundation is an organization concered with the wellfare of the community and as such should be open to and respond to reasonable concerns like this one.

Dear Ms. Gallick,

Here it is Monday October 10th and I am contemplating last nights fireworks celebration. And no doubt there is a lot to celebrate. The organization does wonderful things in the community - it is a joy to drive by the new skateboard and bmx park and see all the kids busy having a great time doing physical activies instead being plugged into their phones and games.
My evening on October 9th however, was spent watching my 3 year old dog hide behind the toilet in the bathroom. 4 years ago, I was not home and unaware there was a Giants play off game and the neighbors set off celebratory fireworks and I never saw my dog again. Terrified, she broke out of the yard and after 3 months of searching high and low I finally had to give up on seeing her again. She was micro-chipped. If you have a pet of your own, you can well imagine the agony of not knowing where your pet is. Hurt, dying somewhere alone? Hit by a car? Taken in by someone? Is she being treated well? Spending more money and hours than really realistic trying to do the right thing for your pet? 10 years prior to my dog disappering, my neighbors dog hung himself from the fence trying to escape fireworks. Examples abound.
Please consider one of your next projects to introduce silent fireworks for your next celebration. A fireworks display artfully corregraphed to music can outdo a traditional fireworks display and you will be doing many pets and wildlife a service and there will be far more to celebrate.
