Support EU Food Labeling Laws!

Stunning an animal before slaughter is one way to ensure that the animal does not suffer while it dies. In an overwhelming 9 to 1 majority, the European Parliament passed legislation that requires labeling meat from animals that were stunned prior to being slaughtered.

This progress toward transparency on grocery store shelves received a positive public response. Yet the EU Council of Ministers vetoed the measure before it could be considered for ratification!

Discerning consumers -- regardless of whether they are motivated by animal welfare or religion -- have expressed support for this labeling law. Awareness is vital to making an educated purchasing decision.

Write to the EU Parliament and tell them that you support transparency in the way food was produced!
Dear Decision-maker,

I fully support the endeavor to label meat from stunned and non-stunned animals in the EU. As a conscientious consumer, I want to know where the meat I buy comes from and how the animal was treated prior to slaughter.
