Tell PA Legislators: Protect Our Drinking Water, Cut Down on Plastic Bags

Disposable plastic bags are everywhere in Pennsylvania – littering our streets and ending up in our waterways, all because our lawmakers aren't willing to stand up to the plastics industry.

In cities where people are discouraged from taking plastic bags at the check-out counter where they shop, distribution of bags dropped by more than half - and littering is way down, which means fewer bags in our waterways.

We can have the same big impact in Pennsylvania if enough of us get louder than the plastics industry. Sign the petition now calling on Pennsylvania legislators to take action to help reduce plastic bags in our state.
To: Pennsylvania Lawmakers

As someone who cares about protecting our drinking water and keeping my community clean, I'm calling on you to take action to prevent disposable plastic bags from littering our state. They end up all over our streets and eventually in our waterways – but they don't have to. Hundreds of cities and towns have enacted policies to encourage businesses and people to move away from disposable plastic bags, and these measures work. We can do the same thing here in our state and protect our environment for our children if you step up now.
