Since 1993, over 370 women have been killed or have "disappeared" in Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua, Mexico. Many of the victims were raped and mutilated. To date, the Mexican authorities have been slow to act in response to the horrifying pattern of violence that has become commonplace in Juarez and Chihuahua.
The International Community is gravely concerned about the safety of the women of Chihuahua. Please join Amnesty International in its efforts to persuade the Mexican authorities to take action now before the lives of any more women are lost. We must all urge the Mexican Authorities to protect its citizens.!

| 33,419 | 1:16 am PST, Mar 1 | Ms. | aurea gonzalez | New York | i am outraged. the mexican govt. should be ashamed of themselves killing and raping their own women and doing nothing to stop it. outrageous, regarless of what the circumstances, little to nothing is being done to protect these women, which makes the govt. equally responsible. Take responsibility, and stop justifying evil behavior just save a dollar or make a dollar. this is the kind of evil behavior that effects everyone. the govt, the people who allow this will have to suffer one day too, evil energy is a cancer that kills everyone. these men are not only killing their women they are slowly killing themselves. everyone loses, as country they need to save their souls and heal. this is so sad, it seems like the mexican govt aka the men dont care about these women because they dont even care about themselves. |

| 33,411 | 8:13 pm PST, Feb 11 | D. Lopez | Kansas | Lets face it, Mexican authorities are not going to help because they carry huge guilt in it. Politicians and the rich that are all involved in NAFTA are under high suspicion for not only covering it up but some are involved. These women put their lives on the line daily just to make a few dollars a day literally, to support their children and families and all they are is a blood sport to the sick and evil of their land. Unfortunately United States dont care, they are too busy turning their heads cause of their involvement with Nafta and Mexican slave labor. Their is nothing they stand to benefit from helping these poor women, cause they have what they want already, free labor basically. We are spending billions daily supposedly to help the ppl of Iraq, when in reality they got what we want. OIL ... Our country is a joke. we send soldiers across the oceans to die under false pretenses but yet our neighbors right here in north america our lovely government could give a rats fuzzy arse less about. Its no wonder they want to all be in the U.S. which use to rightfully be theirs. They come here and work, make families and live safely and then INS picks them up and takes them away from us sending them back into that land of torment, meanwhile we family members mourn the loss of our loved one and worry everyday til we are in physical pain. Its just sick that the united states can not help anyone unless it benefits them in some sort of major monetarial way. They dont care if they rip our families and lives apart nor do they care if them poor young girls are savagely murdered or what they are thinking and going through as they take their last breaths at the hands of pure evil. Karma is ugly when she rears her head, so I hope they keep in mind when its time to be judged dont cry when they get what is coming to them. The women of juarez and their families are in my heart and prayers. | |

Demand Justice: Hundreds of Women Killed & Missing in Mexico!
Your Excellency,
Since 1993, over 370 women have been killed and "disappeared" in Ciudad Juárez and Chihuahua, Mexico. Amnesty International has expressed its dissatisfaction with the response to date from Mexican authorities, and has expressed doubt about the commitment of authorities to end the horrifying pattern of violence that has become commonplace in Juárez.
Ambassador Bremer, we call on the government of Mexico to fully and promptly investigate the deaths and "disappearances" of hundreds of young women in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and provide protection and justice for all in that community. All instances of violence must be thoroughly investigated and its perpetrators brought to justice, and steps must be taken to address the causes of women's vulnerability to violence.
Thank you,
The Undersigned
