Our government has the chance to do something great for Massachusetts families this year: Lifting the cap on public charter schools.

The cap on public charter schools is shutting thousands of children out of great public schools that they desperately need.

Public charter schools give families the option of choosing a better public school when the schools in their community are underperforming – but Massachusetts has an unfair and outdated cap on the number of kids who can attend these great public schools.

Lifting the cap should be a no-brainer. There are 34,000 children stuck on charter school waiting lists. It's time we listened to families, and gave them access to the great public schools that they want.
