Also, the manner in which these animals are being slaughtered, and left behind only adds to the social psychological problem of producing de-sensitized and apathetic people in society.

Stop slaughtering stray animals in Ukraine!

Any comment is needless... Just as it was taking place back in 1997, it is still happening now. "Tvaryny v misti" has its so-called shelter in the suburbs of Kiev, where they keep the captured animals. Usually, these are the well-bred ones who they expect to sell back to their owners. The rest have almost no chance to survive - if the are not clubbed to death on the way to the "shelter", they will take their barbaric death on arrival... It's a big business, and the workers of "Tvaryny v misti" never forget to take care of their future job - they will take the male-dogs and leave the females and puppies in the streets.

Someone has to put an end to this cruelty! Such an attitude towards the animals will never characterize Ukraine as a truly European state! We've been waiting for a long time. Presidents, governments, officers changed, but the situation with stray animals remains the same. There is a simple explanation - people who have lost their common sence taking care about their own wealth will never want to separate with their money so easily!

But now that we have a new President, who we entrusted all our hope and expections, that we have a new Law agaist cruel attitute towards animals, that we are on the edge of electing a new Parliament, we want to ask you, dear Mr. President, please do not forget your promises, prove to us that you really want to put an end to this kind of corruption, and, please, find some time in your busy schedule to think of what these innocent animals feel and how they suffer themselves and see their cubs die in agony because of the corrupted officers greedy for money! Stray animals - is completely our fault and we must find a humane solution to this problem.

We hope you will hear our voices as we speak for those who can't!
