Join The Global Movement to End Extreme Poverty

All around the world, millions of men, women, and children struggle to survive on less than $1.25 a day. They have the same hopes and aspirations as we all do. But without access to education, clean water, medical care, and jobs, the odds are against them.

It can all seem hopeless.

Here’s the secret: The fight to end poverty is being won. Over the last 30 years, the number of people living in extreme poverty has been halved. It’s possible to make that number zero by 2030 if we keep this momentum going. But only if our leaders act.

Join TakePart World and Global Citizen in calling on world finance ministers including U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew to support all efforts to end extreme poverty by 2030. The president of the World Bank will deliver this petition to Secretary Lew and other finance ministers at their annual spring meeting in 2015.
To: Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew

There has been incredible progress over the last 30 years to reduce extreme poverty worldwide. But so much more needs to be done!

Together, we can eradicate extreme global poverty by 2030. I strongly urge you to publicly declare your support for a plan to end global poverty by 2030.
