Take Action: Stop the Hate

In the wake of the largest mass shooting in modern U.S. history – where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people and allies were expressly targeted and murdered because of who they are and whom they love – we are left with the question: What's next?

No more gun violence. No more anti-LGBTQ hate violence.

The time is now to pass common-sense gun laws to protect all people from hate violence in America. We need to pass the Equality Act to add LGBTQ people to our nation's civil rights laws and ensure they are not only safe, but equal in every community. And we need to move now.

Please take action with HRC by sending a letter to your lawmakers in Congress to demand immediate action on common-sense gun laws and non-discrimination legislation.
Dear Member of Congress,

In the wake of the tragedy in Orlando, I am writing you today to express my outrage and concern that Congress has yet to vote on common-sense laws to protect all people in America from hate violence. As the country grapples with the worst mass shooting in our history, now is the time to take action on common-sense gun and non-discrimination legislation.

We must tackle hate head on. It's time for Congress to pass the Equality Act to add LGBTQ people to our nation's civil rights laws. [Your comment will go here]
