Save Darfur

  • by: Marsha Mirkin

There is currently a genocide in Darfur, along with a humanitarian aid crisis.  The chair of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations is being asked to take a strong stand to end the genocide and provide the necessary humanitarian aid.
We are deeply concerned about the tragic events currently unfolding in Darfur, Sudan. We call on you as a senior senator and Chairperson of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations to urge the administration to take immediate action to stop the violence, provide sufficient and effectively distributed humanitarian aid, and advocate for AU authority to protect civilians under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.

The Presidential inaugural address included these words: "All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: the United States will not ignore your oppression..." We are counting on you to give life to these words.
