All of us who share the Dune passion would like to see this work of art unravel as part of something generations upon generations have come to love and admire. Bi-la kaifa.
Mediteatro stated plainly they had no intention of monetary gain, there efforts were of pure fandom. Crushing a set of fans who went to a major effort like this will do damage that doenst need to be done.
Allow fans to express themselves. It's called freedom.
This would result in absolutely ZERO monetary loss to the Herbert Limited Partnership. This move has become a serious black eye in the HLP's reputation and if anything will result in boycotting of HLP sanctioned media.
Shortly said, you are rejecting a gift! a gift to you and to thousands of other people.
They (150 people?) have put seven years of their work into this. For no money. This tells a lot, without even consideration of the rest.
I think fan's should have the chance to create and share this... Why does it matter, if they're not making any profit off of it? Look at all the "Star Wars" fan films popping up every day, and George Lucas doesn't seem to have any problems with them... In fact, you guys should be embracing the fact that fans would put so much work into a project like this; it's free promotion for you. Again, please give this project your okay.
Basicamente, porque han trabajado mucho, y es algo que agranda la saga dune.
Dune is the best
Because it doesn't harm anyone. In fact, it helps get free publicity to sell books! Star wars and star trek fan film as common place. The creators/publishers of Dune should not stifle the fans creative energy for no reason.
Why should the Mediteatro Dune fan film be allowed to be shown and shared with the Dune fan community? Because it it right. Because it could have been me doing this film. Because it could have been any one of us fans who dot it for love and respect. Becasue Herbert Heirs greed over imagined infringement is plain out stupid and paranoid and ungracious.
Surely doesn't the making of this film reflect how much the community appreciates Frank's work? It seems such a shame to let, what, 8 years (?) or so of work to be left unreleased... All that committment, effort and time these people have spent on a project that deserves recognition for what it is: a contribution to the community and a way of acknowledging Frank's great story. And now it's going to waste. Go on, let 'em release it!!!! Can it hurt that much not to ??!?!!!!
There are many reasons why but the way media i now it's not going to hurt the herberts. It will help them look at what Ghosts did for Nine Inch nails.
Because Herbert write the universe of Dune for all us, yours fans. Dune is ours
Please change your stance on this.
If viewing is free then I cannot see why this footage cannot be released. If successful, it will only increase the interest in the products sold by the HLP.
