Published on 21 October Global travel company Lonely Planet has named Singapore the world's number one country to travel in 2015 . - http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/singapore-named-lonely-planets-no-1-country-travel-2015-

Would you visit Singapore in 2015  after you knew ?

1) Total 4 dolphins died while in Singapore
There are native dolphins in our own backyard . Instead of educating people to embrace the beauty of nature, Despite protests from many animal advocates, Singapore allowed Resort World Sentosa to purchase 27 dolphins to entertain tourists , indirectly support the cruel captive dolphin industry

4th dolphin passed away in May 2014 while in captivity. Another dolphin has suffered skin cancer in captivity . Recently reported “The health of the dolphins held captive in Dolphin Lagoon are in appalling and deteriorating conditions which clearly show that adequate care of these animals have not been not met . The display and usage of sick/injured animals for shows is in clear violation of the law as well as contradicts UWS’ stand on conservation and education.”

2) Using Taxpayers’ money to trap and cull animals
Visitors , locals and tourists , always feed wild monkeys and lured them with food while visiting parks .   Resulted in wild monkeys became addicted “easy food source “ and wild monkeys grabbing plastic bags off visitors .

Instead of educating visitors not to feed wild animals, AVA paid external contractor to conduct “ monkey control operations “ .

In September 2014, mummy and her infant was trapped and culled together . Visitors indirectly have caused death of monkeys in Singapore .

 3) Turtle Soup - Tourists may have eaten Someone’s pet without knowing

Red eared slider turtles are approved animal to keep as pets .
Complaint was  lodged against selling “Live Turtles” at wet market, a place where local buy  fresh perishable

Reply from NEA after investigation was carried out
“The turtles observed in the stall were mature animals intended to be sold for food and there was no evidence that they were sold as pets.   AVA does not restrict the types of turtles that can be sold as food ”

Tourists visiting Singapore can enjoy a feast of turtle delicatesse ranging from from turtle soup to stewed / stir-fried turtle meat or organ.  Hence, tourists may feast on “PETS” without knowing .

Dear Signers

I have 3 turtles and truly loving them .
I always educate owners how to take of them and not to abandon their pet turtles .
But our cruel law here allows Red-Eared Slider , a pet to keep, to be consumed .

AVA, State's Agency, has always advocates "Pet is For Life" and "Responsible Pet Ownership" but does not protect voiceless turtles but encourage people to eat "Pets"

Need all supports to ban eating of turtles , including pets .

Thank you
