Sign this petition to stop child protective services(CPS) from taking children away from people who have not abused their children. CPS is spliting up families, even at birth, because according to stigma and stereotypes, that person has the potential of abusing their child.

Because they take good families apart and try to destroy them. Brain wash your children. Let them go through abuse in the foster system and tell you that "abuse was not substantiated". Spread your children apart. Make you have to go through all different types of programs multiple times. Because when I finally got my children back they were teenagers and my eldest son was so messed up for awhile he turned to drugs..this from a child that was always an "A" student, very polite and kind and never caused me alot of trouble..an all around good kid. Turned my oldest daughter by corrupting her into a person who has no trust and hates me, doesn't want anything to do with her own family now....all because she has to stay faithful to her foster parents who had her for 4 years. My youngest daughter ..whom is with me...doesn't want anything to do with dcf...i have custody of her for 2 years now and dcf harrasses her at school, shows up at my home unannounced and asks her questions like "is everything going ok at home?" "are you sure?" "you need to see a psychologist because if you don't you will have problems all through your life" ....If that is so she would still have the same problems she had when she was in DCF care...like banging her head...cutting herself...can't think straight because of all the medications they gave to her and last but not least ...the ticks she had so bad because of the medications they gave her...which are now almost diminished since i have her...none of the hallucinations, cutting, banging her head and ect..has happened since I had her...but yet I was such a bad mother....QUIT HARRASSING ME LANETTE GAINES..ALSO AN"Y OTHER SOCIAL WORKER!!!! Adams | Florida | United States | DCF took my first grandaughter away from my daughter from hearsay due to something she used to do in her past, even though they pop drug tested her and she pass the test they took her daughter, while she was working to regain custody of her daughter she became pregnant again, she was getting drug tested every week and only had meds that the doctor prescribed and had the prescription bottles to prove this. Due to a prescription he doctor gave her, and there is proof of that, my grandson was born with opiots in his system, my daughter trusted her doctor, taking the medication she gave her, and DCF came a took my grandson away from her before ever leaving the hospital. Personally I believe it is the doctor they should be going after. She is jumping through hoops for them and passing all their drug test and they still call her a drug addict and user and will not let her have her children. She even agreed to take their classes and whatever she had to do to get her children back and they have done nothing but drag their feet and make excuses and delays to keep her from being able to take the classes and get her children back. This has been going on for a little under 3 years now. I even have to get DCF permission to see my own Grandchild along with being called on Mother's Day by DCF and be interegated over the phone during a holiday. Is this right, fair or legal. Just another case of DCF thinking they are Lord over all who walks the land. |

My ex started contacting DHR when she finally realized I no longer wanted anything to do with her and her kids. It’s a very common practice I was told by the DHR worker. I submitted to the drug test and home visits once a week, nothing ever being found against me. I’ve been a very good parent for 15 years and she told me everything was great. My ex made so many reports to DHR she finally even went as far as to say, after the 5th false report, that I was giving beer to my 15 year old child. Not true and the DHR workers had never seen or noted beer being in my home. I had to hire private investigators to prove she wouldn’t leave us alone. I was being driven crazy by her. My ex, has no evidence of her claims and the police did not believe her nor her child. Just one false report and no DHR report to back her up, she lost custody of another child. I was so grateful! The people I always thought were there to protect me did. Thank you DHR. I don’t feel sorry for single mothers who leach off others. They need to get jobs and help support their kids, not rely on Daddy’s money and the government. DHR talked to the people I know, including my new wife who, along with myself, had been in my ex’s home and came out a winner with me!!!! You see, DHR can do good – it worked for me. | |

My oldest son Benjamin was home for a month after his brother was taken out of the home. They had no reason or explenation on why they were removing him from my home. They took my youngest son for 7 months before letting him come home, but I fought like crazy to get him home and spend a ton of money I didn't have. DCF is still involved now and they harass us about everything. My oldest son lives with his father, his father's grandmother pick him up without a carseat the other day and I filed a 51A on her...but now it is falling back on me. Then his father filed a 51A on me and my fiance, about a nebulizer, a bite mark from jan 2007 that has been investigated 2 times already, and about things my son has supposably said or done around his father. My son is 4 let me mind you. The social worker comes off as a snot who thinks his better then me....I have had enough. This is complete BS. The social worker called me today telling me that the nebulizer is not a probate court matter like my attorney said but that it was a DCF matter because I was Neglecting my son Benjamin's health problems. I told him that I was sick of the departments BS and harassment...and told him to support the allegation because I would appeal it and but this BS they are causing on EVERY news station in Boston area. On top of this all, My oldest son at about 17 mos came home from a vacation with his father in 2006 with a bubble and other marks on his I called them and they never supported it, but now they are harassing me for my youngest son's issues...they need to get a life and stay out of MINE....if anyone agrees I am going to the news and congressment about this matter in about 2 weeks....if anyone needs help being heard contact me via email: beth72486@gmail.com |

DCF lied to the court & told them we were being investigated by the police for killing our son then making it look like a suicide. This is not true we were NEVER even questioned by the police who have repeatedly told us they never saw this situation as anything other then a teenage suicide. All the accusations against my husband & I proved to be false but we still have not been able to get our 6 & 7 yr old daughters home. They were not allowed to attend their brothers Memorial Service & in the last 2 months we have only been able to see them for one hr a week under supervision...for a total of 6 hrs. We are not allowed to talk to them about their brother who died, not allowed to tell them we miss them, or that we are working hard to try to get them home. DCF tells us this is not in the childrens best interes & is confusing to them. Our son who commited suicide was being bullied by a couple of older kids in the neighborhood & had recently had a girlfriend dump him...we did not know any of this until after he commited suicide. Now DCF has our girls & is basically tearing our family apart. We have not even had time to grieve properly. We can not help our daughters grieve. Our daughters come to our weekly supervised visits with hard, dirty hair...they ask why they can't come home..they cry when the hour visit is over. We have a decent income. We are an old fashion family with my husband working & me able to be a full time stay at home mother. We eat dinner together as a family EVERY night. Our girls are both considered to be "gifted & talented" have never had any behavior problems or learning difficulties. Our friends, family DR & neighbors are all appalled. Some of them have been calling elected officals & local Gov't offices complaining about this in justice but no one in those offices wants to risk dealing with DCF & having annoymous complaints show up against their family. This is all about profit for the DCf office based on contracts they have with local service providers. It is NOT to help families but to generate revenue t the expense of our family | |

ON THE 28TH THEY HAD MY SISTER SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO COMPLY WITH CERTAIN THINGS THE AGENCY WANTED, BUT OF COURSE WAS NEVER ABLE TO, BEING THAT THEY CAME IN THE NEXT AND TOOK THE KIDS. THE ICING ON THE CAKE IS THAT THEY TOOK THE OLDER 3 KIDS BUT LEFT THE 4 MONTH OLD INFANT, WHO OBVIOUSLY COULD SPEAK FOR HERSELF. THIS IS WHERE I CAME INTO THE PICTURE, I CONTACTED DCF AND INFORMED THAT I WAS WILLING TO TAKE THE KIDS, THEY AT TIME TOLD ME THAT DCF HAD THE KIDS AND THEY WOULD BE PLACED IN FOSTER CARE, RATHER THAN FAMILY, BECAUSE IT WAS PROCEDURE FOR THEM. I HAVE CURRENTLY TRAVELED TO THE STATE FOR EVERY PROCEEDING, AT CURRENT TIME IT HAS BEEN FOUR VISITS. MY SISTER ASKED THAT I BE CONSIDERED FOR PLACEMENT OF THE CHILDREN IF SHE COULD GET THEM BACK, SO THE AGENCY SAID THEY WOULD START AN INTERSTATE COMPACT, WHICH IS ONCE AGAIN PROCEDURE FOR THEM. She had a tendency to be violent, abusive and disrespectful at home and I have other children's safety to consider. In order to keep my daughter as well as my other children safe, I sent her to live with her uncle. This was partially coohersed by my daughter's attourney when she had a CHINS case open and partially because I wanted the rest of my household to feel safe, and also because my daughter had wanted to live with her uncle since she was very little. Her uncle is abusive toward everyone and calls me names directly to my daughter and buys her better things than I can afford, ignores me when I tell him she's grounded, etc, won't let me see her, etc. Well he got custody of her, and just about two months after, last summer, he was charged with domestic violence and other charges. My daughter woke up to her uncle's girlfriend screaming and the sound of glass breaking around 5AM. My daughter's uncle yelled at my daughter to "get into the F$%%^#ng car" and with her inside he rammed his car into his girlfriends in attempt to total it. He also slashed all 4 tires with a knife. He took off and the police caught him and when they saw my daughter crying and was scared she was removed from his custody by DSS. Since then I have only had 4 visits with my daughter, and during the 6 month assessment it was decided she would be coming home with me which is where she desperately wants to be. But now DSS is turning around and saying that was never said and my daughter is now about to be returned to live with her uncle after a year of bouncing from one foster home to the next. They say it is because "he was the last to have custody of her" and no other reason. They say they automatically must put her there. Why the hell did they remove her in the first place if they were just planning on ignoring what is obviously a better option for her and what she wants and just doing what is more convenient for them? if they are going to return her to an abusive home, why remove her, it just damages her more. What if the abuse happens again?! I asked her DSS worker why this is happening. He said to call him the following monday. But instead I called him on sunday and left a message on his voicemail telling him that I will not contact him until I reach my attourney first. Now all of a sudden he banned me from contact with my daughter! But we sneak conversation through MYSPACE over the weekends. See, myspace is good for somethings! it's just not fair. Because I have no car and the case is in Holyoke, my dad being 74 years old must travel from Springfield to Gardner to pick up me and my other daughters and take us to holyoke for a two hour visit and then bring us back to Gardner again and then he goes back to springfield again! |

Let Innocent People Have Children & Families Without Government Interference
I want Child Protective Services(CPS) to leave stigma and stereotypes alone and to quit saying that a certain type of people will abuse their children, and take children into their custody when no abuse has occurred.
The day that I had my son, CPS took custody of my son because my husband and I have mental illnesses. We are in treatment, but they still think that we have the potential to harm our child. I have joined many clubs online for mothers - because of their mental illness, having a C-Section, being single and weak after giving birth, etc... - who have had children taken away at birth.
It is not fair to assume that these people can't take care of their children. People with mental illnesses have the right to have children and have families. Just because people who have an occasionally messy house, have a disability, go to McDonald’s everyday or have had a troubled past doesn't mean we can't be good parents. Save your money for kids who are being abused, not for ones who have a so-called potential of abusing their children.
