Mental Health facilities need a new face of healing at the moment they look and feel like warehousing.

I have been dealing with mental health since the age of 24 and am now heading into my 70th year and Eric Martin Pavilion (EMP) is still as it was when I admitted myself in the early years.
In those days a patient could call their Psychiatrist and meet them at Eric Martin Pavilion and be admitted right then and there.
Now when a patient has a relapse for quite some years now one has to go to their GP and get a referral to their psychiatrist. A psychiatrist that the patient has had for years.
I propose that monies be put into renovating such buildings as EMP and UBC and make them resonate healing not be a place that looks like the warehousing of patients.
Today Mental Heath is being self medicated by patients with narcotics and etoh. Unfortunately due to the fentanyl crisis many deaths are occurring and people cannot get the help they need when they need it.
Thank you for your time.
