This petition is for A simple Blood test to be made mandatory twice 2 a year for woman for early detection of ovarian cancer and for more information and educational awarness of ovarian cancer.
The normal range for a CA-125 BLOOD TEST is between zero and 35. This Petition is for all women battling this disease and the 25,500 women who will be diagnosed this year.
This is a screening test that should be required just like a PAP smear (a PAP smear cannot detect problems with your ovaries). And you must insist that your insurance company pay for it.
So help me in memory of my sister all women battleing this desease to get signatures to have a Bill passed to ensure that all insurance company make it a mandatory blood test at least twice a year.
On the research front, our most pressing task is to develop a reliable early detection test for ovarian cancer-like those for cervical cancer. Because there is not a reliable test for ovarian cancer, 78% of the women that will be diagnosed this year will be diagnosed after the disease has already spread; when the chance for survival is low.
Recent discoveries are paving the way for new advances in the treatment and early detection of ovarian cancer, but more work still needs to be done.
This promising new research needs additional support to speed the development of a test and more effective treatment.
Such as the CA 125 Blood test and making woman more aware of this test and information on Ovarian cancer.
