Stand With Women and Demand Australia's Leaders Act On Climate Change

Make no mistake. We are in the midst of a global climate crisis, and women around the world are bearing the brunt of it.

Droughts are robbing farmers of their livelihoods, leaving millions starving. Climate related disasters are destroying communities across the globe. And every year more people are being forced to flee their homes.

In every instance, climate change is impacting women the most. They're 14 times more likely to die in a natural disaster than men. [1] Most of the world's smallholder farmers, who produce half the world's food, are women. And women make up 80% of all international climate refugees.

But all is not lost. Together we can make change happen, by supporting women all over the world who are already campaigning for a brighter future. Will you join us?

Rich countries like Australia have played a major role in creating this crisis and our government is failing to take action. In fact, Australia is ranked last among the wealthy nations of the world on their climate change action. [2] While other countries are making huge changes and leading the transition to renewable energy, we are lagging behind.

The Australian government has already said it prioritises women's safety for Australian aid. If they truly care about women's safety, then it's high time they also get serious about climate change.

Sign the pledge. Stand with the women of the world and demand action on climate change from Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and the Australian government.

Crisis is the new reality. Droughts are robbing farmers of their livelihoods, leaving millions starving. Climate related disasters are destroying communities across the globe. And every year more people are being forced to flee their homes.

In every instance, climate change is impacting women the most.

Women are 14 times more likely to die in a natural disaster than men. [1] Most of the world’s smallholder farmers, who produce half the world’s food, are women. And women make up 80% of all international climate refugees.

But all is not lost. Together we can make change happen, by supporting women all over the world who are already campaigning for a brighter future. Will you join us?

Rich countries like Australia have played a major role in creating this crisis. And while women around the world in low-income countries struggle to survive, our government is failing to take action. In fact, Australia is ranked last among the wealthy nations of the world on their climate change action. [2] While other countries are making huge changes and leading the transition to renewable energy, we are lagging behind.

In (date) the Australian government prioritised women’s safety for Australian aid. If they truly care about women’s safety, then it’s high time they also get serious about climate change.

Sign the pledge. Stand with the women of the world and demand action on climate change from Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and the Australian government.

I'm calling on the Australian government to take climate change seriously. The world is grappling with a global climate crisis and women are bearing the brunt of it. Our leaders must stand with the women of the world today by taking urgent and meaningful action to address climate change before it's too late.
