Make Blacksburg a Cool City!

Tell Blacksburg to do it's part to stop Global Warming!

Over 300 cities and towns across the country have already signed up to comply with the standards of the Kyoto Protocol.  Local governments can make a difference in this tremendous global challenge!

Tell the Mayor to sign Blacksburg on as a leader in the fight against global climate change!

The mayors of over 300 cities and towns in the U.S. have signed on the Cool Cities coalition, committing thier municipalities to reduce greenhouse gas emmissions to 7% below 1990 levels, invest in alternative fuel vehicles, and modernize thier buildings with energy saving equiptment.

Cool Cities

Complying with the Cool Cities Coalition entails that Blacksburg sign the U.S. Mayors Climate Protection agreement.  Broad support and assistance will be needed from Blacksburg citizens and Virginia Tech students to successfully formulate an action plan and moniter the results.
