Change school policy to allow shorter shorts to be worn, providing the shorts are not indecent for school.

Students of Waimea Canyon Middle School have been battlng hot humid weather and am unable to use comfortable weather appropriate shorts (for girls). It interrupts their ability to focus and learn.
Current school uniform policy shares shorts or skirts must be longer than where our fingertips reach when your arms are held by your sides. This is generally mid thigh, or 15-20 cm above the knees depending on the length of your thigh.

It is ridiculously difficult to find shorts that are this length, a reasonable price, and likeable, since the current fashion is geared towards slightly shorter shorts or rarely, knee length shorts (which can be really uncomfortable to wear on hot days).
I am calling for a change of school uniform policy that allows shorts to be worn providing they aren't showing off more than just leg- obviously, whether the shorts are too short or not is at a teacher's discretion however if nothing but leg is showing the shorts should be considered acceptable for school.
