Protect the Lowcountry: Control Growth

Scenic rivers and marshes and rural farmlands are part of what makes the South Carolina lowcountry so special. People move here and vacation here because of our special places, but sprawl along our coast threatens to ruin what makes the Lowcountry great. Some want to build new roads farther out into the countryside. We need to fix the roads we already have, to protect the special places, the wild places, that make South Carolina such a great state.

Join us in calling on the SC DOT to focus on fixing existing roads, and not building new roads we don't need. Your voice matters in Columbia.
I am calling on the SC DOT to focus on fixing our existing roads, not build new freeways we don't need. I would like more transportation choices--not just getting to work and school in my car. As you develop new plans, consider mass transit options like bus rapid transit, and infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists in our cities. This would improve our quality of life here in South Carolina, not just sitting in a car for hours a day.
