Help Young Domestic Violence Survivors

The decision to leave an abusive home can be confusing, dangerous and heartbreaking. And too many victims of domestic violence must leave without knowing if there is safe shelter waiting for them elsewhere.

Children are even more vulnerable. Without shelter, escaping abuse often results in an equally dangerous situation out on the streets.

Make sure Congress prioritizes shelter for victims of domestic violence!

All children need nourishing meals, clean clothes, and a safe place to sleep. Many come to domestic violence shelters with nothing more than the clothes on their backs.

Don't abandon these children when they need help the most. Urge Congress to support shelter for victims of domestic violence.
Dear [Representative],

I'm writing to ask you to support shelter for victims of domestic violence.

We cannot expect victims to make the daring decision to leave an abusive relationship if there is no support waiting for them.

Children are especially vulnerable. Often lacking life skills to care for themselves independently, they can face equally dangerous situations once they escape an abusive home.

Please commit to providing support and shelter to these children. They have already survived; let's make sure they thrive.

Sincerely,
