Tell Congress Not to Cut Life-Saving Foreign Aid

Meet Fatchima from Niger. At just 14-months old, her mom brought her to a hospital in critical condition. Fatchima was suffering from malnutrition and diarrhea. Because she received the care she needed, she survived.

Unfortunately President Trump's budget makes massive cuts to the very programs that helped Fatchima survive. If his budget is enacted, children like Fatchima will die.

We must stop these budget cuts. Tell Congress to reject budget cuts to effective, life-saving foreign aid.

Subject: Support effective and life-saving foreign assistance programs

Dear [Congress person],

I am deeply concerned about the disproportionate cuts to foreign assistance programs that have been proposed by the Trump administration.

At just 1% of the federal budget, the international affairs budget saves millions of lives while also improving the security of Americans.

Due in large measure to U.S. leadership, the world has seen a 50% decline in the number of children under age five dying from preventable causes, like pneumonia, diarrhea, and malaria. If enacted, President Trump’s budget cuts would roll back these critical gains.

Dozens of military leaders have publicly stated that international health, development, and humanitarian programs help make the world a safer, more stable place.

Please reject these cuts to these compassionate, life-saving programs and help preserve America’s legacy as a truly exceptional nation.
