Provide Professor Fraga with funding for research that meets and exceeds comparable offers from other universities, including monies for research assistants and travel;

Provide an academic environment that encourages and supports Professor Fraga’s research on race and ethnicity in politics and education;

Provide Professor Fraga with support for course development, including his service-learning courses, which allow students to utilize theoretical tools to solve problems that threaten communities;

Provide Professor Fraga with a specific means to become more directly involved with efforts to increase diversity among faculty;

By providing these items, the administration will show its commitment to Professor Fraga, his students, alumni, and the entire Stanford community. Specifically, Stanford will show it cares about providing the highest quality of education.  The administration will show a clear commitment to its pursuit in developing influential scholars and leaders who have a positive impact in our society as a whole.
