The country doesn't need an Ebola Czar; we need a Surgeon General.

The Ebola crisis is a genuine crisis, and the United States has demonstrated that it is not properly equipped to handle the health issues or the understandable public fear. One of the most important functions of the Surgeon General is to provide guidance on proper strategies in dealing with public health issues and to calm public fears. Instead of caving to hysterical insistence from the right to appoint a special Ebola Czar, President Obama should stand firm and insist that the Senate confirm the very capable doctor who has already been nominated for Surgeon General.
