President Bush has appointed some real scoundrels over the years, but Elaine Chao has to be one of the worst.
Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao has done horrible damage to workers' rights by gutting safety regulations, promoting a big business agenda and undermining workers and their unions at every turn.
The policies she could try to push through as she leaves would take years to undo. But if she thinks no one is watching in her last months in office, she's wrong.

As a person who works in potentially dangerous environments every day, I am disgusted to hear there are still people out there who have no regard for the harm they are helping to cause, especially in society where health care is reserved for a privileged few.

I feel that in oder to properly protect Americans' rights there should be a whole group that checks on business owners big and small and makes sure their employees know their rights and are being treated and paid properly. I work in the bar restaurant industry and we dn't get paid the proper minimum wage or paid for training and a lot of owners steal tips or don't pay any hourly wage at all, but it is scary to sue as you could get black balled and never get a job again.

I was a regular everyday worker until I got hurt. Workers have no rights at all. People are not as expendable as companies think.

We used to be able to trust our government officials to protect us from corporate exploitation. Now, our government is in bed with them. As American citizens, we must ban together to stop this undermining of our hard-fought rights that are systematically being destroyed by this administration. They are only interested in protecting their power and profits!
