This small amount also allows public broadcasting to provide local community services like educational partnerships with schools, job training services, and the opportunity to explore locally important topics in-depth.
Yet President Bush has proposed a 38% reduction in funding for public broadcasting, which would be felt by the hundreds of millions of Americans who listen to NPR and watch PBS.
