Dear [Representative],
Every child should be able to live a healthy, hunger-free life, but too many kids in this country do not have regular access to enough nutritious food. This shouldn't be happening in the Land of Plenty. Thankfully, as a Member of Congress, you can do something about it.
As our nation enters the summer months - a time when 84% of children in the U.S. who rely on free or reduced lunch at school don't have access to provided summer meals, we must act boldly to defeat hunger in our nation's future leaders. Food banks in our district and across the nation are doing their part by providing food to kids during difficult to reach times like after school, weekends, and the summer months, but they can't do it alone.
Now Congress needs to do its part—by passing a strong child nutrition bill that streamlines programs and provides additional flexibility so Food banks can operate more efficiently and reach more children.

What's more important than ensuring all of our nation's children have access to healthy, nutritious food so they can thrive? As a member of the newly elected 114th United States Congress, I ask you to pass a strong child nutrition bill in 2015.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
