ACT RIGHT NOW... Help Save A Species Today!

With fewer than 500 individuals remaining, the North Atlantic right whale is on the brink of extinction. The biggest threat to this species is -- and always has been -- humans. Today, their survival is constantly threatened by vessel strikes, entanglements in fishing gear and other man-made dangers. 72% of their known mortalities are the result of these threats. A recent publication by NOAA, confirms that right whale deaths caused by vessel strikes have been reduced between 80-90% since the rule was put into place.

Please join us in asking NOAA make the ship speed reduction rule permanent, designate additional regions as Seasonal Management Areas, make compliance within Dynamic Management Areas mandatory, and apply the Ship Speed Rule to all vessels.

Act Right Now by signing this petition and adding your personal comment to ensure that the future is a safer place for all right whales and that they are free from the threats that prevent their survival and recovery.
Dear Samuel Rauch,

North Atlantic right whales are in danger of extinction. I am joining WDC, Whale and Dolphin Conservation in asking that you give these whales a chance of survival by doing just four things:

1. Make the ship speed reduction rule permanent.
2. Designate additional regions as Seasonal Management Areas
3. Apply the Ship Speed Rule to All Vessels
4. Make Compliance within Dynamic Management Areas Mandatory
