Tell Congress to Protect Colorado Public Lands

American public lands are in jeopardy.

Recent months have seen unprecedented radical attacks on our treasured national wildlife refuges, forests, and monuments. Out of state special interest groups are pressuring Congress to advance legislation that would result in increased development on public lands across the West. On top of that, radical Bundy extremists are rallying armed militants in attempts to seize our national public lands. We need you to speak out against this fringe but growing movement by letting others know you want public lands to remain in public hands!

Places like the San Juans, Browns Canyon, and Pikes Peak are part of our cultural heritage where we go to hunt, hike, and fish. It's paramount that we prevent these efforts from prevailing because if they do, places such as Pike's Peak could be sold off to the highest bidder and public access could be lost forever.

Join us in the effort to celebrate these cherished landscapes by urging Congress to abandoned seizure efforts and instead preserve our outdoor heritage and wild places for generations to come.
Dear [State Senator],

Colorado is fortunate enough to have 24 million acres of national public lands that we rely on for economic prosperity, clean water, outdoor recreation, and our unique way of life across the state. Recent assaults on our public lands – specifically the introduction of bills that seek to seize or undermine public lands and place them in state control – could put ranchers out of business, close off access for hunting, fishing, and recreation, and bankrupt our state. I join the majority of voters in Colorado who oppose state seizure of national public lands, and agree that our land should be held in trust for all Americans.

Please continue to oppose attempts to strip these lands from the public, fence them off and auction them to the highest bidder. Our wild, outdoor places are what make Colorado – and America – so great.

As your constituent, I thank you for your commitment to public lands and want you to continue to fight to keep them public, for all of us and for future generations.

Sincerely,
