Commitment to Human Rights for Afghan refugees/detainees in Australian Detention Centres

Help Afghan refugees/detainees, stop their suffering and find a them a new home!

    The refugees of Afghanistan deserve:
  • Every measure to ensure that the families of Afghan refugees stay together;
  • Every measure to remove detainees from the Woomera detention centre;
  • Food, medicine and other types of assistance in order to sustain the well-being of the refugees;
  • Assurance to the Afghan refugees that they will receive a fair and timely processing of application for visa.
  • The opportunity to settle in a new home instead of trying to "bribe" them with money so they will return home. They are already deeply traumatised and dislocated.
How much trauma can a single human being bear? Sign, to help now!
WE, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about possible implications for human rights arising from current hunger strike and suicide threats in Woomera detention centre, South Australia. We respectfully request that the Australian government:

1. take every measure to ensure that the families of Afghan refugees stay together;

2. take every measure to remove detainees from the Woomera detention centre;

3. continue to provide food, medicine and other types of assistance in order to sustain the well-being of the refugees;

4. give assurance to the Afghan refugees that they will receive a fair and timely processing of application for visa.

5. rather give them the opportunity to settle in a new home instead of trying to "bribe" them with money so they will return home. They are already deeply traumatised and dislocated. How much trauma can a single human being bear?

Sincerely,
The Undersigned
