In late 2007, thousands of people like you helped persuade Congress to put off their plan to slash payments to Medicare doctors for six months. Now that Congress is back in session, we need to make sure these cuts never happen at all! If this plan goes through, Medicare patients' access to care will be bleak. On July 1, a steep Medicare doctor payment cut is scheduled to go into effect. We need your voice more than ever to protect quality healthcare for those who need it most: families, the elderly and infants! Ask Congress to have a heart. Make sure Medicare cuts don't go through this year -- or ever.
We took action on “Have a Heart, Congress! Don't Cut Medicare Payments”!

Please, Please don't do this to our doctors or to , We need them. If we don't have them you might as well just shoot us now and put us out of our misery!!!

Congress runs this country. It is not necessary to wait for a new President to encourage you to do what is right. Healthcare is in the top four of issues the American people are concerned about. Hear the people and act!

Please remember the most vulnerable of our society..the elderly and the very young. The Elderly represent our heritage and have contributed to making our society the greatest in history, and the young are the hope of our future. Isn't available health care to them the least we can do to repay the elderly and encourage our future?

Everyone (old and young) should be afforded medical care. It is morally right and adds humane to being human. How we take care of our elderly reflects on the type of society in which we live.

We must protect the health of older Americans - even if only to prevent even greater expenses if they are denied routine preventive care

Did you know that an American Medical Association survey found that 60 percent of physicians said a projected 10 percent Medicare payment cut will force them to limit the number of new Medicare patients they can treat?
Further, about 25 percent of Medicare patients seeking a new primary care physician already have problems finding one, according to the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, the group that advises Congress on Medicare. Couple that fact with a government-predicted shortage of 85,000 doctors by 2020 and the first wave of baby boomers turning 65 in three short years, and the future for Medicare patients' access to care is bleak, unless we take steps to turn the tide.

I know you're aware that a deep, 10 percent Medicare physician payment cut is scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2008. Please, I implore you to make sure these cuts don't go through, for fear that more doctors discover they can no longer take care of those who need it most.
Our doctors are always there to take care of us - shouldn't we finally return the favor?

I have a relatively uncommon illness, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, that many doctors don't know how to treat. There are only a handful of doctors in the greater S.F. Bay Area who care for patients with this illness. Many of those doctors already do not accept Medicare assignment. My doctor of 5 years stopped billing for Medicare effective April 1 BECAUSE of Medicare cuts to physicians and poor processing of claims. I am now searching for a new doctor.
Cuts in payments to physicians is a BIG problem for patients like me (I'm alo a senior citizen). I have yet to find a new doctor in a 50 mile radius. Further payment cuts to doctors will affect many of us.
