Act Now and Protect Los Trabajadores from Pesticides!

Every year, an estimated 10,000-20,000 farmworkers are poisoned on the job due to pesticide exposure.

The EPA has finalized rules that better protect farmworkers from these toxic pesticides, ensuring that farmworkers finally receive the same types of protections as workers in other professions. This is the first update to these rules in 22 years and is a great step forward for environmental justice, but we need to make sure these protections are fully enforced.

We have no time to lose: let's make sure they enforce these farmworker protections to ensure a healthier community for us all.
To EPA Administrator McCarthy:

Farmworkers are an important part of our communities, our food system, and the American economy. They deserve the same protections that other workers enjoy. Latino communities have a long history of farm and agricultural work in the United States. As a Latino who cares about the health and well-being of our community and our environment, I thank you for finalizing the Agricultural Worker Protection Standard.

Now that it's final, I want to emphasize how important it is to enforce these new rules to protect our nation’s farmworkers from exposure to toxic chemicals in fields, nurseries, and greenhouses across the country.

Sincerely,
