In the fight against terrorism, government asks: "If you see something, say something."
Well, we see something very worrying in U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and we are now saying something.
Through his hate speech toward Muslims, Mexicans, and others, Mr. Trump is inciting terrorism, bigotry, and violent extremism across the nation and world, at a time when we need calm and understanding.
Anti-muslim violence has increased substantially in the U.S. since Mr. Trump's call to ban all Muslims from entry into the country.
Due to his dangerous hate speech, many in the UK are asking their government to ban Mr. Trump's entry into that country.
Mr. Trump's vicious Islamaphobia contravenes American values. His shameful rhetoric inflames xenophobic hatred in our country and the world, and plays right into the terrorist playbook. He fans the flames of intolerance, violence, and radicalization.
Mr. Trump is a clear and present danger to national and global security.
Accordingly, the U.S. government must place Mr. Trump on the FBI terrorist watch list and no-fly list.
Mr. Trump should be on both lists, prohibited from flying in U.S. arispace and monitored 24/7/365 by our security services.
Let's show the world that we will not stand for this sort of regressive vitriol, and return our national discourse to respect and tolerance.
