The "America First" Energy Plan is a Very Bad Idea - Support Renewable Energy Instead!

Trump's "America First Energy Plan" calls for the exploitation of oil, natural gas and coal reserves in this country. This means more pollution from fracking and mining, as well as from using fossil fuels to satisfy our energy needs. He claims that doing so will save the USA billions while creating more jobs, when in reality renewable energy is growing rapidly and adding more jobs than oil or coal. In reality, Trump's energy plan will cost us in terms of increased pollution and sickness. We need to tell him that a real "America First" energy plan will emphasize renewable energy and guide us away from limited fossil fuels.

Your "America First" energy plan calls for exploiting untapped shale and natural gas reserves here in the United States. You claim that this will bring needed jobs to this country. However, getting at fossil fuel reserves frequently involves fracking, which time and again has proven to be harmful to the environment and to people. A better energy plan is to expand the use of renewable energy such as wind and solar. Fossil fuels are limited, while wind and solar are for all intents and purposes infinite. Sooner or later, we need to wean ourselves off coal and oil. The claim that the Climate Action Plan and the Waters of the U.S. rule are "harmful and unnecessary" is nonsense. Abolishing them will not save money, but will cost more in the long run due to not only increased pollution and illnesses. If you really want our need for energy to "go hand-in-hand with responsible stewardship of the environment," you will take steps to decrease our reliance on limited, polluting fossil fuel and increase our use of clean, unlimited renewable energy sources. If you really want to make America great again, you will support real progress in how we satisfy our energy needs.
