Thank Harry Potter's Publisher for Going Green

Scholastic Books, the U.S. publisher of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, has announced that the book will be printed on paper that contains a minimum of 30% post-consumer waste fiber. 65% of the paper used will be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. This is the largest purchase of FSC-certified paper to be used in a single book. The decision followed lobbying by the Rainforest Alliance. Canadian and European publishers have printed the last several Harry Potter books using forest-friendly paper, in accordance with author J.K. Rowling's wishes. It is great news that the U.S. publisher is following suit.
Dear Mr. Robinson:

I am writing to applaud the decision of Scholastic Books to print the forthcoming 7th book of the Harry Potter book on forest-friendly paper. This will have an enormous impact on our forests, and provides a great opportunity for us to teach our children about conservation and recycling.

Sincerely,
