Pledge to eat sustainable seafood once a week

It's not news to you. How we eat matters. To your health. To your family's health. And to the survival of our oceans.

Floating factory fleets, overfishing, indiscriminate harvests and industry secrecy are putting entire species and marine habitats at risk, while fueling anxiety around seafood.

It doesn't have to be this way. Wild, traceable, sustainably harvested seafood is protein-rich, delicious, ocean-friendly and crucial to the livelihoods of American fishermen and our coastal communities.

85%, yes 85%, of the seafood we eat in America is imported via a complex and opaque supply chain. A lack of transparency and loose regulations in other countries means you might not be getting what you ordered. In fact, a recent study by ocean conservation NGO Oceana found that 33% of the seafood DNA-tested from the retail market was mislabeled, with threatened species sold as sustainable. How much do you really know about that fish on your plate?

At Fishpeople, we believe that by eating sustainable fish from American waters, caught by folks committed to transparency, you can have peace of mind AND change the world.

Stand with us today and pledge to eat sustainable seafood at least once a week. Stand up for a transparent seafood industry, a safe food supply, protected endangered and vulnerable species, vibrant marine habitats and American fishing communities.
