Regal Senior Care: Don't Displace These Florida Seniors

Hundreds of seniors in West Palm Beach, Florida may be forced to leave their homes — unless caring people like you speak out.

Recently, Regal Senior Care purchased Joseph's Village senior living community. Now the new owners want to make the property an assisted living facility. Current tenants were only informed in February 2016 that they would have to move to another building on the property or find shelter elsewhere.

Having to move is always stressful, but especially so if you are older. Statistically, senior citizens are less economically able to absorb the costs associated with moving. In fact, such displacement can be extraordinarily harmful. According to AARP:

"The mere threat of an eviction, especially for someone in frail mental and/or physical health, can be disastrous."

In at least one case, such stress has even been fatal. A 97-year-old cancer patient recently died while fighting eviction in California.

Speak out for seniors! Sign this urgent petition now and tell Regal Senior Care's president to allow Joseph's Village residents to stay in their current homes.

Mr. Jordan:

As someone who cares about the health and wellbeing of seniors living at Joseph's Village senior living community, I strongly urge you to allow the property's current residents to stay in the units that they currently occupy.

Having to move is always stressful, but especially so if you are older. Seniors are less likely to be able to absorb moving expenses and can can be harmed by the worry and anxiety that comes with having to leave their current homes.

In fact, the AARP says that "[t]he mere threat of an eviction, especially for someone in frail mental and/or physical health, can be disastrous."

[Your comments]

I recognize that you are running a business, but I respectfully ask you to take into consideration the health and wellbeing of Joseph's Village's existing residents and allow them to stay in their current homes.

Sincerely,
