Fire High School Teacher Who Castrated Cats In Classroom!

According to a November 12 report by WNEG Radio, the Georgia teacher who resigned after castrating a cat has withdrawn his resignation.

Mr. Daniel Herbert, an Animal Science teacher at Stephens County High School, castrated his personal cat where students were present as the cat was held down. The cat was neutered with no anesthetic.

Herbert was suspended by the school and his resignation was accepted – but now he has rescinded the resignation and plans to return to his classroom on Friday, November 19.

This teacher should not be instructing students or performing public operations without anesthetic! Sign this petition to demand that the school reverse its decision and stop Daniel Herbert from teaching at this school.

According to a November 12 report by WNEG Radio, the Georgia teacher who resigned after castrating a cat has withdrawn his resignation.

Mr. Daniel Herbert, an Animal Science teacher at Stephens County High School, officially withdrew his resignation earlier this week, Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey announced Tuesday morning.

An update by WNEG Radio on November 13 reported Herbert was suspended on a 6 to 1 vote today to accept his resignation effective at the end of the current school year on June 30, 2015. Herbert is set to return to his classroom on Friday.

Dorsey explained Herbert had castrated his personal cat, where students were present as the cat was held down and the animal neutered with no anesthetic.

The Stephens County Board of Education has made a decision on a teacher at the center of a cat castration controversy at Stephens County High School.

Herbert was reinstated after he submitted a new letter on November 12 withdrawing his original resignation, and offered to resign at the end of the school year.

Jim Ledford was the lone opposing vote in both motions.
