Congress: vote to make a law legislating employment arbitration contracts illegal retroactively

George Washington at his farewell address said "The basis of our political systems is the right of the people to make and to alter their Constitutions of Government." To me this means we have to petition Congress to update or change or rewrite laws or write new laws every once in a while. This petition is about getting Congress to change a very bad and abusive employment law that only benefits big corporations. A number of years ago I was a stockbroker and financial advisor for a major global Wall Street firm. It's unfortunate that I worked for bad people in the financial industry. And I can't go back in time and not work for these crooks. I can't change the past, what happened in the past is already done. But I can push forward and make things better for the future so that what happened to me can't ever happen to anybody else. I worked really hard in college to earn my Bachelor's degree in finance from St. John's University. And I worked really hard to get my Series 7, Series 63, and Series 65 securities licenses, and my insurance license, only to have my licenses destroyed in the blink of an eye by the firm I worked for and trusted. In my view, in my opinion, I worked for white collar criminals who never got caught committing a fraudulent act on my securities licienses. In short, they wrote something on my securities licenses that wasn't true, it was a lie. I spoke with an attorney who said that the regulator that oversees the firm's compliance and licensing said the regulator failed to enforce their own rules and regulations. That they were supposed to enforce the rules against the firm saying that the firm can't write on an employee's licenses without having proof. This is basically what my lawyer explained to me after he researched their compliance manual. Taking his legal advice, I filed a lawsuit against the regulator in United States District Court, and the federal courts granted the defendent's motion to dismiss. My case is currently being appealed in the United States Supreme Court. What I first wanted to do was file a lawsuit in court against the firm I worked for, but I signed a predispute arbitration contract that prohibited me from filing a lawsuit in a court of law. So my lawyer said I could sue the regulator in court for violating their own rules. The problem is the courts are dismissing the case saying that the defendent, FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc.) has absolute immunity from lawsuits. That sounds like a dictatorship to me and unconstitutional. So I'm appealing my case in United States Supreme Court. If Congress votes to make employment arbitration contracts illegal retroactively, then me and millions of others who have been wronged by their employers can file lawsuits against them in court and get justice. Everything that happened to me can also happen to you. And I don't want to see this happen to another human being for as long as this world exists. If there are millions of us united, we can challenge corporate monsters like this, and their unchecked power. It is time we United States citizens stood up to our government. America is supposed to be the greatest and wealthiest democracy in the world. But not for the people living in it, only for the biggest and strongest corporations. We Americans, no matter how poor our finances may be, or how desperate we may be for a job, should never be bullied by corporations into giving up any of our rights or liberties for any job. Every day, corporations are forcing millions of Americans into rotten employment contracts. Here's the problem: In exchange for employment, millions of people are giving up their right to file a lawsuit in court against their employer, by being forced into signing pre-dispute arbitration contracts. For exmaple, if a female employee is sexually harassed by her co-workers or her boss, the courts will dismiss her lawsuit based on the fact that she signed a pre-dispute arbitration contract. Her only option is to sue her employer in a fixed, rigged, corrupt arbitration hearing, which is not a court of law and the arbitrators almost always rules in favor of their clients, which is the employer. When you give up your rights to a judge and jury there is only justice for big corporations. And that's only one example of an infinite number of things that could go wrong between you and the big corporation you work for. People of all ages are affected by this. Whether you are a teenager, in your twenties, middle-aged, or elderly, should a conflict between an employee and an employer arise, employees give up their right to file a lawsuit in a court of law against their employer and you will not get justice, instead the employer gets away with all of their wrongdoings. These abusive employment contracts are affecting millions of hard-working men and women of all ages throughout the United States and millions upon millions in the future. Employees in America are not given a realistic choice. Upon hiring the job applicant, he or she agrees to either give up their rights to a trial in court or they refuse the job offer and remain jobless. Every day millions of people are signing these contracts for a job because they have no choice, either sign this and give up their rights in court or remain jobless, and let their family starve and live on the streets. These are the alternatives from big business in America in what's supposed to be the freeist nation in the world. We're living in a crooked America where there are only bad choices offered by our society's corporations, by giving up our liberties for job security, only to live in fear and tyranny presently, and for generations of future Americans who will later experience this same authoritarian, dictatorship-like employment system. If we don't do something about this oppressive employment law now, it will only grow worse, and when its time for your children, and their children, and many generations after them to apply for a job, they will go through many difficulties, unless we take action now. The time to act is now, not in a hundred years from now, when we're long gone, and then people in the future asking themselves, how did this abuse go on unchallenged all this time, why didn't anyone do anything about this? Why is my life so difficult at work? Why is the corporation I work for abusing me? While we're all still alive, as long as we're still alive, we have the power to do something about this. But that power is gone, when we're gone. If you want a better life for you, and your children, and countless generations after them, now is the time for taking action. If we just sit by and allow this bullying to continue, over time, little by little we will lose more and more liberties. We seek the United States Congress to pass a law making these unfair, corrupt, abusive arbitration employment contracts illegal. George Washington and the other founders knew that they wouldn't live long enough to enjoy living in a free, independent United States, they risked everything not for themselves, but for us, people living in the future. What happened to me, is too late, but its never too late to make life better and sweeter for the future. Even if my former employer offered a settlement to me for millions of dollars to stop this petition from reaching Congress, I promise you, I would refuse their settlement offer if you sign this petition, just so we can make a difference in the world now, and in the future. If you're reading this, it means you're alive, as a living person, you have tremendous, colossal power, power to make a difference. We're all going to die one day, though, millions more will live after we're gone, but before we go, together let us change the world, so that someday, your children can be free, sign this petition, our letter to the United States Congress. Anyone who's got a job or anyone who's ever had a job in this country should sign this petition. We're only the United States because people, not corporations were standing united first. We're all in this together. Let's make and become a part of American history. For humanity's sake, please sign this petition. If you're not afraid to be human, and if you're a true real American please sign this petition. It is time we United States citizens demand our government to do what's right. Thank you. God bless America.

Update #58 years ago
I sent an e-mail to the law professor in charge of the U.S. Supreme Court law department at West Virginia University. The law department said to contact her for assistance in this matter. So I did. Not sure if she will help or not. As soon as I hear back from her I'll give another update.
Update #48 years ago
Spoke with my lawyer today. He said he's not admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, so he can't give me anymore legal advice. I'm in the process of getting the law department at West Virginia University to prosecute this case in the U.S. Supreme Court. I'm filing an application on July15th, 2015.

This is about freeing people. People from all fifty States will be free some day if enough people sign this petition. If Congress votes to make arbitration contracts illegal, allowing people to file lawsuits in court against their employer, abuse in the workforce would diminish to almost nothing. People will work under less strenuous conditions, and will be treated like a human being instead of a pile of garbage. Thank you for supporting this cause.
Update #28 years ago
We can begin reaching out to Congress to get justice for all employees in America and every person who will become employed in the future. For months i had no representation since congressman grimm resigned. However now i have representation in congress. dan Donovan, the district attorney of staten island was elected to congress. Congressman Donovan and i are from the same hometown and I'm very hopeful he will review this and make good changes for employees here in America and beyond.
Update #19 years ago
I want you to know how much I appreciate each and every one of you for wanting to do something good and make a big change for the people of our time now and for hundreds, maybe thousands of years into the future. I'm closing the petition soon and sending it to Congress for review. When I hear back from my Representative or Senator I'll give you an update. And if you're on social media networking sites, please feel free to share the link to this petition with them. Thanks.
